Philadelphia sits between the Delaware River on its east side and the Schuylkill on its west, between New York and Washington. Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution ratified, and the Liberty Bell are the first stop; the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Reading Terminal Market, the indoor market at 12th and Arch that opened in 1893 and holds more than a hundred vendors, are the next two. The airport is seven miles from Center City, and the SEPTA Airport Line runs into 30th Street Station in about 25 minutes.
The airport’s route map lists a nonstop between Indianapolis and Philadelphia as year-round, but none of the itineraries Google Flights returned for the dates we read was nonstop. The cheapest fares were Frontier, connecting through Atlanta, Orlando or Fort Lauderdale. The lowest fare we’ve priced is $114 for a week leaving November 11, through Atlanta both ways, with a stop of more than seven hours in Atlanta going out.
