Indianapolis to Aruba (IND → AUA)

Aruba is a Dutch Caribbean island 18 miles north of Venezuela and about 20 miles long, with Oranjestad as the capital and a dry climate that gets about 20 inches of rain a year. Eagle Beach, the widest beach on the island and rated one of the best in the world, is in a neighborhood of Oranjestad known for its low-rise resorts, and Arikok National Park covers a fifth of the island. Papiamento and Dutch are the official languages, English and Spanish are spoken too, and Queen Beatrix International, the airport at Oranjestad, has U.S. preclearance: you clear U.S. customs at the Aruba airport before you board the flight home and skip the customs and security inspection when you land.
